Last Minute Christmas Gift?

Are you looking for a last minute Christmas gift or do you need a quick hostess gift for a holiday party you're attending? This literally takes under 10 minutes and is super thoughtful to boot. One of my girlfriends here who went back home for a couple of weeks was a sweetheart and brought me special treats from Canada. To thank her I made her a delicious smelling Sugar Scrub and an assortment of Christmas cookies.

You can honestly make this with whatever you have kicking around in your kitchen - salt included, do a quick Google search - there are hundreds of different options! For my Scrub I stuck with sugars, vanilla and ground nuts.

1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vanilla sugar
3 cups ground hazelnut
Vanilla and macadamia nut oil

I put all of the dry ingredients into a Tupperware container. This made it easy to just throw the cover on and shake everything up.
When everything is good and mixed, pour in your oil and continue to mix well.
Scoop into a glass container and tie on a bow.
For a nice touch, give the scrub with an exfoliating mitt :)

Homemade gifts are truly my favorite to give and receive :) Did you make any homemade gifts this year?

  1. I picked up tatting this year because some idiot linked me to this wild tatted mask, and I was like "I MUST MAKE THAT" before I realized that I don't have any Opus Dei orgies to attend, so I was like "well, I have all this thread" and made a bunch of earrings and bracelets for people. It's oddly relaxing, since you're just looping thread around a big needle the same way over and over again. I also bake a lot for the holidays because it's easier/cheaper than shopping for another dozen people!

  2. Do you remember my experience trying to loop things around a needle? ULTIMATE FAIL JLB!!!!

I love reading your thoughts and opinions and I do try to answer all comments and questions. If you would like to contact me directly feel free to email me at or find me on Instagram @_kymfox.
